The off-grid energy budget: how much does a toilet cost you?
Four watt-hours per cycle. Twenty uses a day is half an hour of a 60 W panel.
Off-grid, every watt-hour is a line in the budget: fridge, lighting, water pump… and now the toilet.
PAKET OFFGRID draws about 4 Wh per cycle. Twenty uses a day is 80 Wh. The integrated 60 W panel produces 210 Wh from an average 3.5 effective sun-hours.
So the system does not merely pay for itself — it contributes to the battery reserve. Even after three sunless days, the 50 Ah battery keeps it running.
For comparison: a fan-driven composting toilet can consume 200–400 Wh a day because the fan runs continuously. We have no fan, because odour is sealed off at the source.
